Why Design Engineering?
My enthusiasm for creating, designing, and building engineering solutions grew from my early encounters with Lego. That's where I first learned to take small seemingly unconnected elements and combine them to create elaborate and complex working models.
I especially enjoy the sketching and idea generation stage of problem solving, and then moving quickly through the design stages, into a more hands on approach of building a series of prototypes.
About me
Hi! I'm Jake, a passionate surfer, with saltwater in my veins and an unshakable connection to the ocean. From dawn patrol sessions to sunset rides, there's nothing I love more than chasing the perfect wave. The ocean is where I feel most alive—every swell, breeze, and tide shift inspires me and can be seen in my work.
The guitar is also a key part of my life, it allows me to express emotions and thoughts in ways that words alone sometimes can’t capture. Whether I’m working on a new piece, playing my favorite songs, or simply improvising, the experience is both calming and energising.
